CANCELLATIONS:
Unfortunatly the two scheduled solo bass shows in May 08 have been cancelled. Due to artistic decisions by Tom, there will not be any further solo bass performances in 2008 whilst he concentrates a new project which you will hopefully see around in autumn. We hope those that already had a ticket accept Tom's apology.

Tom Jenkinson has thus far performed two stunning sold out shows with his new and exciting solo bass performance; In London at The Queen Elizabeth Hall with sax virtuoso and electronic experimenter Evan Parker (July 16th), and in Paris at Cite De La Musique again with Evan but also with the mechanical wizard Pierre Bastien (Sept 7th).

Squarepusher is no stranger to the concert hall - his long running collaborations with the London Sinfonietta have made great waves in the contemporary classical world, and captured the attention of new audiences whilst still satisfying existing fans.

Anybody who has witnessed him perform before will know - Tom Jenkinson, or 'Tom the Bass' as he is known at his local pub, is possessed with an incredible deftness for improvisation alongside his pedigree as a composer. The progression to this pure form should come as no surprise to those who have been following the work of Squarepusher - from the purely instrumental tracks on Ultravisitor such as 'I Fulcrum' and 'Andrei' and his Jazz trio sets of the 2006 UK tour, to his first solo bass performances in Turin the same year (alongside the LSO), and the recent feature on Channel 4's Culture Show.

It’s a bold step by one of the most important bass players of our time and the lucky few who witnessed these performances have had their brains ripped out and all said it was amazing.

You can get a taste here, from his feature on Channel 4's "Culture Show"
