After announcing the news of Tyondia Braxton's departure to follow his solo career, Battles are busy finishing their 2nd album, the follow up to the incredible Mirrored, for release in early 2011 on Warp Records.
There will be a full worldwide touring schedule with a new show.
The NYC supergroup make a brief loop around Europe playing a run of special shows including; Warp 20 Berlin & London, ATP10, U:Mack15 in Dublin + StateX Holland, Paris & Manchester. Battles are currently writing their follow up to the hugely acclaimed 'Mirrored'. They are playing new material at these shows.

BRISTOL VENUE CHANGE INFO>
The venue had to be changed in Bristol due to the Bierkeller management totally screwing us all over. 2 weeks before a almost sold out show they got word from central management that they had to cancel the show on 10th Oct to make way for a new student night across all their venues, unbelievable! Luckily the promoters were able to move the show to Trinity, all tkts are transferable.

The awsome foursome (John Stanier / Tyondia Braxton / Ian Williams / Dave Konopka) have been busy in their New York studio since their EP collection on Warp & intense euro touring in 2006. The new single "ATLAS" was released 2nd April on Warp along with a stunning video. The much anticipated MIRRORED album is now available in all good music stores!.
ATLAS is an incredibly chunky stomper, like Can writing a 2007 dancefloor track. Stanier thumps out a chugging 'Cologne' beat which layers up kick on kick to give an almost techno like effect whilst Tyondia brings warped out vocals that tease like the best Boards of Canada vocoders. Deep funk guitar rhythms build up into a trademark Battles crescendo. Its a brilliant shift from the earlier material towards a more direct punchy style, which brings to mind images of huge crowds with their hands in the air.

With a killer new single, video & album, and an already solid fanbase and live reputation accross the band & electronic communities, Warp are chomping at the bit for this to be one of their biggest projects in 2007.
In Don Caballero, Ian Williams examined King Crimson through a gargantuan math rock microscope. In Helmet, John Stanier crafted a soaring post-grunge power surge. In Battles, along with Dave Konopka and electronic maverick Tyondai Braxton, sporadic concrete interludes are sandwiched by glorious slabs of polyrhythmic insistence. A brief moment might suggest Bitch Magnet tackling Beefheart, and then the music belches gratuitously before flying off again in impossible combinations. Over 5 EPs on a range of US indie micro-labels, Battles display their transcendent compositional athleticism and assurance, the essential sonic dexterity of each member perfected in previous musical lives. Lauded across the States for their live prowess, 2006 will be an interesting year for Battles...
