DJ Scotch Egg
The notorious Dj Scotch Egg, who's about to release his DRUMIZE album on Load Records will spearhead the invasion with his unique gameboy madness.
Joining him will be Ove-Naxx, also playing live. His fucked up breakcore jungle set is unforgetable to those who have seen him before.
Headbanging never looked so good! Maruosa will be thrashing his long black hair at you as well as his demented grindcore metal breakcore sounds.
Ove Naxx

Welcome to The Overkill zone, brought to you by Littlebig. Oh yes, we are back at Glade with a rollercoaster ride of extreme entertainment, a non stop barrage of the worlds finest live acts to add methanol to your Glade cocktail. Yup, its PartyRave time…
After Brighton’s Jay Pace from The Black Box System gets things warmed up we have Chevron officially lighting the touchpaper on the weekend’s proceedings. Bringing his slamming Planet Mu / Wrong Music 3D tweak-rave sound, we start as we mean to go on! Blir is a new live project from the minimal northerners aka SND suitably leading into a special showcase from Manchester collective, Skam Records:
Head honcho Rob Hall + Freeform + Team Doyobi
= UK Party Electronics at its best.
ED DMX of Rephlex & Breakin Records fame will edge the tent towards rave with one of his finely tuned DJ sets that have been taking the roofs off clubs for many years. Meanwhile Flat-E visual collective will be getting busy with their hyper edit eye treats. Vex’d and Modeselektor are leading the way for new club music in our books. Bristol based Vex’d (Planet Mu) have played a big part imprinting Dubstep on the UK consciousness while Berlin based Modeselektor (B-Pitch Control) are ripping up the Electro-Techno rule book. The Gasman & Tim Exile’s mini mash sets will turn the party on its head. Both Planet Mu’ers, their unique styles are gifts from the Gods. (Tim’s set will be available for download from www.bleep.com the week after – and look out for his new live album “Nuisance Gabbaret Lounge”).
We’re excited to bring in Jason Forrest (aka Donner Summer) for a rare UK show. From his home in Berlin he’s been experimenting with new styles of mayhem-party music best described by the title of his recent album “Shamelessly Exciting”. PCM are rave captains from Birmingham who will unleash their home brewed acid jungle firmly putting us on collision course with the masters of hardcore gabba Hellfish & The DJ Producer. These two legends have been mashin up beats and releasing records since most of you were suckling on mother’s breast milk. It’s an ultra rare treat when they come together for shows and this makes the perfect end to day 1 in Zone Overkill.
Day 2: Wakey wakey. What’s that? You want some chilled sets to massage you back to life, sorry, wrong tent. Saturday afternoon is the time for live experiments and we have a turbulent selection of the most worthy weird and wonderful acts for you. After the Electroplegic Allstars get us up to speed Scotch Grind (aka Mr Egg) performs a special new noisy set just for Overkill. Ack Ack Ack are Brighton’s most exciting new band and not to be missed. Uncle Shitmat and The Wrong Crew are back to present their new offering especially prepared for Glade, The Countryside Alliance Crew (CAC). The Urban takeover will feature Ebola as DJ Pylage, Mully as Scrumpy Jack Frost, Shitmat as Farmer Giles Peterson and many more special guests (inc John Deere ‘traktor dj’, Wul-Pac & Roots Manure).
Next up is the mighty Trencher, best described as the UK’s answer to Lightening Bolt. Gay Against You (aka Germlin) are the Adaadat Record label’s hot new noisy gabba live band. Coming in especially from Prague where he has been introducing the locals to rave, Mattkore switches the mode to mash-up before a special set from the masters of bass Unique3. We are proud to have Warp Records’ new electronic hero Jackson over for a rare live set. His fresh style showcased via his recent album ‘Smash’ has pricked ears all over the world. DJ Rephlex Records makes a welcome return taking us deeper into the zone with his specialist selector skills before we hand over to Bang crew. Never has there been a team so dedicated to making true rave and we are honored to yank them out of their London cycle to host the first ever Bang Face festival experience…

Day 3: A sumptuous selection of live acts take the stage for The Overkilled Sunday Service. True performers with a hint of theatre is the remit for the afternoon before we wind up with an evening shindig. After our very own N>E>D goes from silence to sound at the flick of a switch, Mike in Mono (ex Plone / Warp) plays a rare show to get things fully underway. The up-and-coming musical maverick from Brighton Voltek warms it right up before we proudly present 65 Days Of Static. Their blending of live instruments and electronicness has earned them a diverse range of fans and their shows have gathered a lot of momentum over the past year.
Max Tundra is a long running exponent of quirk, his releases (Domino, Warp, Tigerbeat) show off a huge range of explored avenues and after taking a break from gigging to finish a new album, this live performance should not be missed. Over from Amsterdam, About are a new act who just released their debut album of fucked up morish pop music ‘Bongo’ on the excellent Cock Rock Disco. Matt Yee King’s voodoo improv band Bavin bring the heavy sounds, they use an entire studio’s worth of kit and live trigger-jam their way through it all.
HK119 will blow your mind open with her theatre show. Resembling a zooped up female version of Bowie in his space-race hay day, HK is the wild card in the Sunday service before we hand over to the young Detroit beat meister Jimmy Edgar. With his recent ‘Color Strip’ album on Warp and super slick live set, Jimmy’s style of retro-futuristic electro-dance is causing a stir. B12 of Artificial Intelligence / Warp fame have recently burst out of hiding with a new live set. There are rumors of new recordings and hopefully some releases.. The B12 duo make a welcome visit to Glade to complete the Overkill session on a very high note.
Thanks to everyone whose helped. Enjoy. Ned.
Ps Keep an eye out for the new OVERKILL COMPILATION CD featuring all your favorite extreme entertainers, onsale (cheap) at the Glade.. and watch this space for Overkill shows around UK!

WOLF EYES INFO::
2004: The machine-entity that Nate Young, Aaron Dilloway and John Olson, have brought to life sprouts limbs and runs roughshod across America. The recently released “Stabbed in the Face” 12” (Sub Pop) scratches, tears, rocks, claws and moves with the precision and clarity of quantum uncertainty. Their new full-length for Sub Pop, Burned Mind, will molest you. That is statistically for certain.
Wolf Eyes’ trademark boil-bursting thud has evolved into the roar of a lithe panther with rattling jackhammers for claws. Agility and quickness are now this beast’s most lethal attributes. Placed on the evolutionary charts, Burned Mind appears as the progeny of Throbbing Gristle’s Heathen Earth sound-model. But, the complex of muscularity and emotional range found in Wolf Eyes’ new sound-model has rendered its apparent ancestry slow, clumsy and rather limited in comparison. Fuck, man, cite all the top-shelf noise and power electronics bands until you’re blue in the face —Whitehouse, New Blockaders, Nurse with Wound, whatever — but none possess the internal being of Wolf Eyes. The former were performance artists flirting with the dire circumstances of the human condition in the abstract. But, Wolf Eyes just fucking ARE the dire circumstances of the modern human condition. Ever watch a movie about the future and the future is so oppressively grim, violent, foreign and insipid, that even a romance with nihilism seems way too quaint and inappropriate of a response? And then you realize…We live in drastic fucking times, and Wolf Eyes make drastic fucking music.
2005: Halfway through the century brings change to Wolf Eyes. With Aaron Dilloway relocating to Nepal, the band decided to scoop up Mike Connelly of noise kins Hair Police to pick up the slack. Connelly has been in the game since around 2000 with his own tape label Gods of Tundra and sound assault group Hair Police. He moved up to Michigan at the end of 2004 and has been jamming with Olson and Young in various projects, leading up to his introduction into Wolf Eyes. The band's recent shows have been a return to a much more primitive and raw approach to the bands own version of armageddon (which includes brews and Negative Approach's "Ready to Fight" on repeat). New recordings like "Deranged" and "Droll vol. 19" highlight Wolf Eyes' current state of mind, while new songs like "Leper War" tear it all to pieces. Its going to be a gnarly year.
ELSEWHERE ::
The Glasgow based king of DIY David Keenan brings his improve noise band TAURPIS TULA down to play a special set before the Wolf, anything could happen as these old friends dream up ideas for a big mash jam. Warp’s CLARK plays a late night live set to give people a thumping grove to move to – check out the new ‘Throttle Furniture’ 3” CD out now. More UK improve experiments come from the young masters BIRDS OF DELAY & BAVIN, the latter is a new project from Rephlex’s Matt Yee King. Your DJ hosts N>E>D & Jim Backhouse fill the gaps with fruity tunes.
The Sick & Twisted crew have out done themselves with a monster lineup of rare gabba rave treats for the bottom room. KK NULL + Z’EV INFO ::
The Original Gangsters Of Noise Tour brings together in collaboration two fiercely independent and forceful musical forces for the very first time.
Shape shifting artists exploring the outer terrain for over a quarter of a century and rarely playing live in the UK, this tour pitches the two together in near comic fantasy. For they are the “Original Gangsters Of Noise” Of course now the “noise” aesthetic or label hardly describes their outer-music exploration at all but it is through their ability to hear music in the modern din, the sound of space(s) and the constant rhythm of life that their music orientates itself.
KK. NULL is a heavy dude billowing huge crafted cosmic sound into the ear.
A cult underground experimental Japanese musician whose contemporaries include Merzbow and Otomo Yoshide.
Starting his career in the early 80's by performing guitar improvisations in the clubs and streets of Tokyo, he gained wider notoriety as the leader, guitarist and singer of STEVE ALBINI produced progressive hardcore trio ZENI GEVA. Yet it's his solo work that has earned him a devout following in avant circles. He has already developed an extensive arsenal of musical talent: composer, improviser, singer, electronic wiz, drummer, and even Butoh dancer. Recently his penchant is for indefinable atmospheric electronics with a wild improv bent. He has worked with dozens of bands and artists, which reads like a role call of the most exciting musicians on the planet: JOHN ZORN, JIM O'ROURKE, RUINS, MELT BANANA, BOREDOMS, OTOMO YOSHIDE, and EARTH.
Z.EV was involved in the USA’s early industrial movement. His involvement has evolved through sound-art loops and installations moving through pagan magik trance, mallet and metal noise-pieces, Indonesian influenced drumscapes and sensory rhythm deprivation to limitless music.
As dark, experimental punk was meshing with art school in 70's Europe, Z'EV brought non-traditional percussive voicings to the NYC avant-garde scene (influencing Brian Eno among others). Since then he's explored 'spatial poetics' in athletic yet graceful live performances that utilise colossal metallic sheets, giant coil springs, interconnected pipes and other found materials culled from the junkyards of the globe. His dozens of collaborative projects include work with JOHN CAGE, GLENN BRANCA, HAFLER TRIO, PSYCHIC TV, and RHYTHM & NOISE. He has released on TOUCH, STAALPLATT, SOLEILMOON and TZADIK amongst many.
A HUGE LINE UP ::
Excited to be playing alongside 1 of their noise heros, fellow Japanese experimentalist Scotch Egg & Ove Naxx will rock hard with their full-on 8bit antics. Representing the colourful Birmingham alternative scene, mayhem junglists PCM along with trash-stop band Esquilax will blow you away. The most recent experiments from North Yorkshire take form tonight as alien pop duo Relinquistix and new drum & electronics act Details both play their first ever London show! Those cheeky Cassetteboys fill the gaps with their secret edits and home made acid.
Over in the Wrong Adaddat room we have a splendid blend of exciting new mutant bands from around the world: Bruno + Michel Are Smiling + Skipperrrr, Cutting Pink With Knives & Toxic Lipstick. Alongside the bleeding edge of banging-tronics from Planet Mu’s Tim Exile, Chevron; from Berlin Karl Marx Stadt aka Society Suckers, Moster Pussy.
Wrogn Music will also unveil their new collab live gabba band: The Countryside Alliance Crew! Your hosts for the evening: DJ Shitmat & Romvelope
