Who is Chok Rock?
GAEL BAILLIER, a Parisian rock'n'roll guitarist in a band called SMOUTH TOOLS, who had a short but intense career with one unique concert @ Rex club in Paris. That night, the audience witnessed a sound not unlike Eddie Van Halen -the crowd saw his talent but had mixed reviews. Gael, with his sound engineer background and taste for the sweet sounds of SHUGGIE OTIS, TIMMY THOMAS, and JOHNNY GUITAR W, decided to hook up with an old friend and start an audio production company based in sound design and soundtracks. The company grew rapidily and ended bankrupt even quicker, perhaps due to excess partying and hisaddiction to musical equiptment. Effected by his downturn in luck, Gael decided to take on a new life. He changed his lifestyle, worked like a militant in his studio, and invited different musicians to create with him. Among them CAMILLE BAZBAZ (his spiritul brother) and CYRIL KEBELLIAN (the genious guitar player from BLACKSTROBES). The result: CHOCK ROCK is born! In July 2003, SCRATCH MASSIVE entered the universe of CHOCK ROCK. There was an instant connection and Seb (from Scratch Massive) signed Gael to his label CHATEAU ROUGE. Their union being their remix of Scratch Massive's song "MAKE IT HIGH". " BIG CITY LOOSER " is the first record from Chock Rock, containing three tracks full of personal experiences, a violent and hypnotic sound with a serious influence of Jack Daniels and debaucherous sex.
