MoHa!

Out of Norway's super-fertile improvised scene, Moha! are boldly leading the way with a sound that encompasses the best of rock, free jazz and electronic music.
Despite the enormity and broad spectrum of sounds that constitute their unique style, it is the work of just two talented young men. Anders Hana (of Noxagt) on guitar, obsolete electronics and a pallete of effects pedals, and Morton J. Olsen (of Ultralyd) on drums, triggering a multitude of noises from each skin and cymbal using custom built software.
Formed as a live project, their shows are a challenge to describe, and impossible to categorize. Two sides both compliment and confront each other, with sharp and mechanical movements on one, free flowing and unconstrained gestures on the other. Amongst their tightly synchronised riffs that seem impossibly mathmatical and precise, there exists a looseness and freedom of expression that stand Moha! out as a band to watch very closely. Those who have seen their performances will agree; Moha! possess an immense energy that very few bands can equal.
Their first release on Rune Grammofon entitled 'Raus Aus Stavanger' is ten examples of this unique style, appealing to fans of rock, jazz, electronic music in equal measures - a fine achievement for any band. Their next album is set to be released imminently...
