Pressure Sound, the sound of hip-hop and dancehall force-fed into a laptop and mutated with the electro virus. A sound that is blowing up all over the world right now, and at the forefront of this global movement is the legendary DJ/Rupture. To many he is the new face of urban music?the potent sound of genre bending and overcrowded city life. A post-cultural broken mirror that mashes hiphop, techno, reggae, afro-cuban, spoken word, bohemian rhapsodies, folk music, the chanteuse, breakbeats, avant-garde noise, and jazz through the strainer of a DJ_s mentality and emerges with one of the most concentrated and exhilarating sounds on the planet today.

And there's more, jetting in from Miami we have Supersoul, aka Jamaican born Omar Clemetson no stranger to the world of underground hip hop and electronic music. Building a reputation for over a decade and a sound that has surfaced on countless records and CD's for the likes of Moonshine Music, Lex Records, Bomb Mitte and his own Metatronix label. Omar has developed an organic yet robotic hip-hop that on vinyl is breaking boundaries and turning heads and live is guaranteed to burn up the stage.
More on Supersoul

Completing the global trilogy we have, from Osaka, Japan, the mysterious Ove-Naxx, one of the leading lights of Japan's highly evolved electronica scene. Ove-Naxx has pioneered a delirious take on raggamuffin drum & bass and post-modern Nipponese pop. Catchy synth melodies buzz inside fast-moving thickets of percussion. Picked up by DJ/Rupture for his Soot label, Ove-Naxx has also delivered the goods for Tigerbeat6 raggatronic sublabel Shockout and the cult British label Adaadat.

Pressure Sound was started by Furthur promoter John Power (Sick Love, Carte Blanche, etc etc etc), from the ashes of previous night Spectrum:

'Spectrum ZX: Machine Pop Specialists taking over London's Asylum once a month with weird electro twelves, brutal acid tracks? dancehall and hip-hop. If the shit fits, wear it - and Spectrum wears it well.' (sleazenation dec '02)

Normally taking place the first Friday of each month at the intimate yet often crazed Asylum club (rathbone place, W1) Pressure Sound has played host to fearsome live shows from the likes of The Bug, DMX Krew and just last month latest Warp Records signing Milanese.
